During sakura season, many families and friends go to the park for a special picnic called 'hanami'. They sit under the cherry trees, eat food, and enjoy the beautiful pink flowers together.

The cherry blossom is very important in Japanese culture. For many people, it is a symbol of new beginnings because spring is the start of the school year and the working year in Japan.

Every year, tourists from all over the world travel to Japan just to see the cherry blossoms. For a short time, the whole country looks pink and full of life.
