Fashion is often seen as a simple question of clothes, but in reality it can say a lot about identity, confidence and social belonging. The pictures suggest that people do not choose their clothes in isolation: they are surrounded by advertisements, social media trends and the opinions of others. As a result, fashion can become both a creative tool and a source of pressure. For many people, clothes are a way of expressing individuality. A person’s style can show their personality, values, mood or cultural background. Someone who wears unusual colours or vintage pieces may want to show creativity and independence. In this sense, fashion can increase self-confidence because people feel more comfortable when their appearance matches who they are. At the same time, fashion is strongly influenced by society. Advertisements and influencers often make people believe that they need to buy new clothes in order to look attractive or successful. This can lead to unnecessary spending and fast fashion, which is harmful for the environment. Social pressure is also important, especially among young people, because many people are afraid of being judged if they do not follow current trends. In my opinion, the most important thing is to find a balance between individuality and adaptation. Of course, we sometimes need to dress appropriately for school, work or formal occasions. However, I believe that people should not lose their personal style just to please others. Fashion should help us feel confident and authentic, not make us feel insecure.
